A Glasgow nightclub has installed a two-way mirror which allows male revellers in private booths to spy on unsuspecting women as they visit the toilet! With no notification or signage anywhere in the venue many female club goers have been left feeling embarrassed and used. Although they do briefly show the mirrors in a promo video, the club has been quickly deleting comments and posts on their social media from club goers trying to alert others to the situation. This is pretty much illegal and hugley violates privacy. Thank you The Shimmy Club for giving us a shiny, new, creative and cool take on objectification.

What might end up happening is they slap an 18+ on tumblr, requiring you to either get parental consent (which might happen if your parents know you have a tumblr and are current on the news) or fake a birthday (like everyone did with myspace 10 years ago). Because graphic art/fanfic has become such a staple on tumblr (not to mention all the porn blogs), they would lose a great amount of content and people would try to continually post it even after it was prohibited they might not even find it worth it.
But I mean then tumblr becomes known as the adult blogging site which isn’t true at all.
But then they could go and put all the effort into removing the adult content and monitoring it from then on out, which would require teams of people.
Or do what DA does and let you toggle on your profile if you want it to be seen, which could be controlled by a parent somehow? (which is a huge invasion of privacy but i still get.)
But I mean, they could just leave it be. Who knows.
A teenager in Florida has been expelled from school and charged with two felonies simply because her girlfriend’s parents disapprove of their relationship. She now faces two years of house arrest and a year of probation.
Kaitlyn Hunt was a popular student at Sebastian River High School, participating in everything from cheerleading to basketball. Hunt began dating another female student and the latter girl’s parents became enraged, according to Hunt’s parents. Kaitlyn was 17 at the time the relationship began, while her girlfriend was 15. Upon Kaitlyn’s 18th birthday, her girlfriend’s parents sent the police to the Hunt home and the teenager was arrested.
Hunt was charged with two felony counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a child. Then, weeks before her graduation, Hunt was expelled from school.
“[The girlfriend’s parents] are out to destroy my daughter,” Hunt’s mother told the Examiner, “because they feel like she ‘made’ their daughter gay. They see being gay as wrong and they blame my daughter. Of course, I see it 100% differently. I don’t see or label these girls as gay. They are teenagers in high school experimenting with their sexuality — with mutual consent. And even if their daughter is gay, who cares? She is still their daughter.”
Infuriating. So many things wrong with this.
First, this is a case of homophobic parents blackmailing a girl they don’t like in a slimy, roundabout way that serves to mask their bigotry. I can’t believe what a cheap shot they took. Absolutely disgusting.
Second, “I don’t see these girls as gay”? Cool, thanks, Mom. Thank goodness she’s not disowning her daughter, but I don’t totally see this as being supportive either.
Third, there’s a petition circulating to drop or lessen the charges against Kaitlyn. Go sign it. And try not to lose faith in humanity, even though people like this exist.
You may notice how “not seeing her as gay” made absolutely no difference to her being expelled, charged with a felony, or having people with a lot more power than her trying their hardest to destroy her life.
This is why “NO LABELS!11!! WE ALL BLEED RED!!1!!!” doesn’t work. Ever.

I don’t know if you guys saw the episode of Kitchen Nightmares, or if you’ve seen anything from their facebook meltdowns. But Amy’s Baking Company in Scottsdale, Arizona openly admitted to stealing their servers tips! So if you could please publish this, it’s a link to a petition to get them investigated by the US Department of Labor, and hopefully the resulting legal action will ensure that everyone who worked there gets compensation for the lost tips.
Not only do they steal tips from the servers, they are verbally abusive to their staff and customers. This was all shown on the Kitchen Nightmares episode, as well as many reviews from people who’ve eaten there. I’m sorry that this isn’t exactly a Robin, but I’m hoping that if you guys publish it, it’ll get the remaining signatures it needs (which is about 800 more at the time of submitting).
Ramsay talked to a former waitress there, and the waitress said she’d seen 50 people come and go in her year and a half there. The husband admitted that it was more. So please, Robins, let’s help the Robins who suffered at the hands of Amy’s Baking Company hopefully get back the tips that are rightfully theirs!

“What worries me about Yahoo! buying Tumblr is how it would choose to incorporate the website into its email and homepage features. One of the reasons why Tumblr is so unique is because it’s a niche market. By adding more users who don’t fit into this niche, it would make it more difficult for communities to develop within Tumblr, and Tumblr would have to change to accommodate these new users. Tumblr as a website is not the kind that you can sign up for in a day and be on your way. It is a website crafted so that you can immediately post but must spend several weeks, sometimes even months, to build a community. With new users who would not be willing to spend time growing a community, Tumblr would have to be changed, which would alienate its current users. Those users have spent time and effort to make Tumblr what it is today, and they are the ones who spend time on the website daily. As much as is does sound like a load of bullshit for someone to buy Tumblr, it’s a possibility. I Personally think it should stay independent and I hope David Karp keeps a hold of it like his own child. Or we make enough noise to where such major changes (if bought) will not happen. I would hate to see Tumblr turned into an advertising dump.We’re not a ‘hip fad group’ to be marketed to. I hate the fact that’s all we look like to businesses in the end.

okay so some of us in the star trek fandom have decided that it would be cool if we made “starfleet personnel files” and put them together in a “starfleet database” so we can learn about each other and find more trekkies etc because so much of the fandom is close to each other but most of us haven’t even heard each other’s voices and that’s lame
so here is the thing
make a video of yourself and say these things:
